ALF heavyweights crush Mathews
The 140-pound squad (5-0) remained undefeated after a dominating 50-0 triumph over Mathews.
Nathaniel Fowler and Dra Rushton both intercepted passes and returned them for touchdowns to ignite the Falcons. Bryce Revis, Logan Italiano, Michael Wilson all turned in standout efforts and Emanuel Dawkins enjoyed a win on his birthday.
The Falcons will travel to Struthers tomorrow to face the Wildcats with the 100-pound game set to start at noon, followed by the 120s and 140s.
Colts 120s shut out Struthers
The Colts 120-pounders remained undefeated after shutting out Struthers 26-0.
Collin Roberts led the defense with multiple sacks, while Maleek Cheatham and Jacob Shood had fumble recoveries for the Colts. Carl Farina also had a quarterback sack. Kyree Long and Brian Ferguson both had touchdowns to pace the offense.
Falcons 120s get shutout victory
The ALF 120-pounders improved to 2-3 on the season by beating the Mustangs 22-0.
Todd Simons scored two touchdowns to lead the offense. Christopher Scott struck pay dirt for the team’s other score.
Donovan Jones, Ryan Gordon and Justin Stainfield contributed stellar play on defense to help shut out the Mustangs.
ALF 100-pounders earn first win
The 100-pound Austintown Little Falcons earned their first victory of the season, beating Mathews 22-8 last weekend. The win was keyed by tough defense and solid offensive production.
“Our kids have been playing hard all season and today it finally showed on the scoreboard,” said coach Steve Ellis. “They deserved this win.”
Terrance Pankey and Adam Emerick led the attack with two touchdowns each. Ine of Emerick’s scores came on a pass reception from quarterback Cameron Smith.
Emerick and Anthony Blott also added conversion scores for the Falcons. Peyton Quarles, John Edmonds, David Ashburn, Angelo Vasko and Anthony Sandy were all recognized for outstanding play in the win.
Colts heavyweights tame Wildcats
The Austintown Colts 140-pound team defeated the Struthers Little Wildcats 36-6 last Sunday to improve to 4-1 this season.
Noah James led the Colts with two touchdowns and more than 80 yards rushing. One of those scores came on an interception return. Tyrell Oliver had more than 70 yards on the ground and touchdown. Dylan Correia added 50 yards rushing and a score.
The Colts defense, led by Brock Kimble, dominated the Wildcats.
Colts 100-pound team is 5-0
The 100-pound squad improved to 5-0 with a 38-14 win over Struthers.
Donovan Oliver led the offense with three touchdowns and more than 150 yards rushing. Brothers Devin and Devon Winford also scored touchdowns and all the Colts’ two-point conversions.
Outstanding defensive players were CJ Schisler, Conner Kent and Collin Moore.
